Many years have passed now since we began making a garden here and about ten years ago the house was completely renovated, and many of the new plantings in front of the house have since grown too tall.
By stealth over the years our view had disappeared behind huge hebes and a pseudopanax, but cutting down such huge plants, 3 by 3 metres, would really leave such a gap!
With some initial hesitation we set into clearing the way, and what a difference a morning with a chainsaw can make! From the deck the view is back and the gap unnoticeable. Why had we waited?
Now I will enjoy the great pleasure of replanting the raised garden in front with lower plants!
